If you wanted to deploy the HANA System for your SAP ERP then it can be configured in two ways Single-host or multiple-host system
1.Single-host system: In single host system only one SAP HANA instance will be configured on one host.
2.Multiple-host System: Multiple-host System it is also called as distributed system.
In Multiple-host System the SAP HANA instances will be configured as distributed system over multiple hosts, with one instance per host.
The first HANA deployment type i.e. Single-host system is very easier and simplest installation type. In this type the SAP HANA System will be configured on single host and then can scale up the system when required.

The second HANA deployment type is Multiple-host/distributed system. In Multiple-host system the HANA instance can be configure on multiple host. The HANA Database Lifecycle Manager can be used to install the SAP HANA multiple-host system.
And if wanted to add the host to an existing system, use the SAP HANA resident HDBLCM.

The HANA server software is based on a flexible architecture that allows distributed installation. so the load can be share between multiple hosts. The HANA server software should be install in a shared file system. This file system has to be mounted on all hodsts which are part of this multiple-host system.
