If you are using the HP Data Protector for taking Daily / Weekly / Monthly Online-Offline Backups on the Tape using any tape library, So when you are taking backups everyday, So for every backup the Backup session image and session entry get created in the Internal Database of HP Data Protector Manager.
And when Data Protector Manager is creating the backup session entry in database it requires some free space on the backup server where the Data Protector Manager is installed.
And if there no any free space is available on the Backup Server then only it will show you the error message like
“Media Management daemon reports : Not enough disk space for Internal Database”
I just tried Barcode Scan and it gave me the below error message:
[Critical] From: MSM@dp-server “HP:MSL G3 Series” Time: 11/13/2014 6:47:47 PM [65:73]
Media Management daemon reports: “[12:1162] Not enough disk space for Internal Database.” ============================================================================
0 cartridges out of 0 successfully scanned. ============================================================================
When i tried Barcode scan in my HP Data Protector, it gave me Media Management daemon reports : Not enough disk space for Internal Database error It means on my backup server the HP Data Protector is installed on ‘C’ drive and now the’C’ drive is don’t have any free space available and due to this the HP Data Protector Manager is not able create any entry on Internal Database.
So in order to resovle the issue, i make some free space on ‘C’ drive and restart all HP Data Protector services then tried Barcode scan then its completed successfully.
