Here is the solution if your Data protector showing Media Quality Poor.
Data protector mark the tapes “POOR” quality if they are used for 36 months.
All the Backup jobs are getting failed then if you want to use them again, then you have to wait until the retention time expires or need to reset the Poor flag.
Follow the below procedure to reset the Poor Flag :
1.Login Data Protector Server where the Data Protector is installed.
2.Open the Command Prompt and go to C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin Directory.
3.and enter the omnimm -reset_poor_medium Medium_ID
If you don’t know the Medium ID then Open the Data Protector >> Backup and Devices >> Devices >> Slots >> Select the Tape which is showing poor quality >> Info.
there you’ll see the Medium ID
4.Then do the Barcode Scan and check the the Tape Quality.
then the tape is now back in “GOOD” quality and ready to use.
